Child & Family Guidance Center's Tacoma Learning Center (TLC) program has established itself as a leader in the Pierce County community in serving children ages 0-3 who have developmental delays. TLC is also known for its outstanding education and encouragement to the parents and families of these children.

TLC is dedicated to providing inclusive, family-centered educational programs and therapeutic support to infants and young children with varying abilities and to help them reach their full potential.

Young children thrive best in natural environments; therefore, TLC program services are provided in family homes, community settings and integrated classroom settings at the Center. Parents are each child’s first and best teachers; all services include ongoing parent education and support.  

In order to continue to strengthen the services we provide, TLC merged into Child & Family Guidance Center. As of January 1, 2005 we combined our services to better serve the Pierce County Community. This merger in no way takes away from the services and programs TLC offers. We will continue to reach out to children and families as we have always done.
